Well it does now, and we define it.Ĭome visit our facility, take our courses and see the difference 6 stars make! ![]() Our Woodland Park Range facility currently warrants an unprecedented 625 points under that standard, yet we do not rest on our achievements and continue the relentless pursuit of excellence every single day. The current range rating points system of NSSF® awards the highest rating of 5 stars for only 500 points (which most ranges do not even come close to). One visit to our facility and you’ll understand why. No one sets higher expectations than we do. That’s because at Gun For Hire, we don’t limit ourselves to the standards created by others – we break those standards and hold ourselves to an even higher benchmark. The club takes part in various competitions throughout the year at all locations mentioned above.There isn’t a range rating standard anywhere near sufficient to evaluate the incomparable facilities at Gun For Hire’s Woodland Park Range. We can provide MoD required Safe Shooting Certificates. We have qualified instructors and free safety and shooting training in all disciplines. Shotgun shooting at Weston usually takes place on Sunday mornings. We arrange two weekend shoots each year at the National Shooting Centre at Bisley in Surrey and several days at Thorpe Cloud in Derbyshire. The club meets on a regular basis at Castle range for SB rifle on Friday evenings for SB, air guns, gallery rifle and BP pistols. Shooting takes place at Thorpe Cloud in Derbyshire with BP and FB rifle, Castle range in Nottingham (SB and BP pistol), Bisley ranges (FB), and Weston, Newark (shotgun). We shoot black powder (BP) (muzzle loading) rifles and pistols, vintage service rifles, gallery/sports rifles, air pistols and rifles, small bore (SB) (.22in calibre) rifles and full bore (FB) (7.62mm calibre) rifles, and also shotguns. We are a Home Office Approved Club with a membership interested in a wide range of shooting disciplines and accordingly hire various range locations to accommodate members requirements. We have a fully licensed bar and social area for afterwards! We have a fully stocked shop for all equipment and supplies required for all shooters needs We run regular competitions on all the ranges – one of our most popular is our Poppy Day Shoot in November where we shoot service rifles from the 1st & 2nd WW on our 100 metre range and the money raised go to our local Poppy Appeal.
